The bunkers in the Wadden area had a special role in the Atlantic Wall: the 6,000 km long German defense line in WWII. Bunker Museum Terschelling is part of the Stichting Bunkerbehoud Terschelling.
The foundation is responsible for the former German radar installation Tiger. This is one of the few installations in the Netherlands that is still almost completely present. The total complex of 7 hectares consists of 100 bunkers, in which more than 200 German soldiers lived and worked during the Second World War. The command bunker Bertha is almost unique in the Netherlands due to its impressive size. There are only 3 of this type of bunker in the Netherlands.
A large group of volunteers has been working since 2012 to expose and furnish part of the bunkers on the fortification. On average, 30 to 35 people work on renovating the fortification in their spare time, as a tour guide or as a hostess / host in the visitors center. Bunkersterschelling.nl

Beautiful, isn't it? That view over the Wadden Sea from Terschelling. But...wait a minute...WHAT actually lives UNDER all that water? Good question. The answer: the fishing cutter TS-3 Viking. It's like this: We fish with trawls from this cutter, we haul the nets etc. We fish with two nets. Surprising and educational. A true voyage of discovery. Come along! sleepnetvissen.nl
Owner and wreck diver Hille van Dieren has been collecting recovered inventory pieces from the many shipwrecks around the island of Terschelling since 1975. The museum is full of curiosities from the period 1650 to the present. An exciting museum for young and old. wrakkenmuseum.nl
